Philosophy
Janice's philosophy regarding decorating is simple:
A Home Is A Reflection Of One's Personality.
When establishing a client-decorator relationship gathering information is essential. In addition to determining what a client likes/dislikes, the need to know how the space will be used is important. Does it need to be decorative, functional or both? Is intended for family use? If so, the ages of the children and number of pets. Does the client frequently entertain? If so, is it more formal or informal? Determining the style to be incorporated, based on the architecture of the home and the lifestyle of the occupants, is of great importance. Having these facts allows proper color and fabric selections in addition to furniture procurement. Collecting this information at the beginning of a project makes it easier to make the proper selections, resulting in a satisfied client at the end.
I recently had a client shed tears of joy while thanking me for being a part of decorating her home.
That was the ultimate reward and why I love what I do!
